Together our staff oversees the church, providing vision and directional leadership. We meet weekly for prayer, relationship building, support and much hard but necessary work. We discuss the overall health of our church, giving particular attention to the well being of our members & regular attendees, and to the ways that we reach out to newcomers and our community. In the forefront of our thinking is our mission of reaching out in love and acceptance. We seek God's help to make decisions that are in line with this mission as well as with our vision of becoming a Biblically functioning community of believers. We filter our decisions and our actions through our Core Values: Acceptance, Small Groups, Process, Interdependence, Compassion, Excellence, Joy, Authenticity and Relevance. Each staff person leads one or more individual work areas, meetly monthly, providing vision & direction and recruiting, training, equipping and supporting volunteers. Volunteers work alongside staff to implement decisions, evaluate, and carry out the works of ministry within each area. As staff comes together weekly, we are able to tie all of our work areas together to promote unity. Staff leaders are also able to leverage the different strengths of particular teams and to help volunteers serve where they best fit. Our staff works together to lead and serve our entire church, each carrying out a nunber of general all-staff rsponsibilities. We also each lead one or more individual work areas. We view each other as parts of a unified staff team first, and directors of specific areas second. Alongside our team of staff is a larger "Leadership Team" that includes 8 volunteer leaders and Director level staff. Our Leadership Team serves our entire church with the volunteer members acting as a "board of elders". This Team provides excellent leadership, checks and balances for its staff members, encouragement and wisdom. Staff could not lead the church well without this team. The perspective, unique talents and colective wisdom of our Leadership Team volunteers is a major force in the health and growth of our church. Major financial and strategic decisions as well as issues of timing, priorities and policy are made collectively by this Team which includes Staff. Several additional key leaders within different ministry areas of our church also provide excellent leadership, checks and balances, encouragement and wisdom. These volunteer leaders are the ones who carry out God's work with the help of many other volunteers. These are the people who are best suited to make decisions on the details of how we operate, and also have a crucial perspective on the "heart" of our people. Volunteers are our best advisors and evaluators, helping us to see things through the eyes of those who are and those who will become a part of our church family.
